Lincolnshire Gardens Events 2018

Throughout the year members of the Lincolnshire Gardens group put on a wide range of special events, here we can only list a few of them, but there should be something for everyone.

Sunday 27 May 9am to 5pm Plant Hunters Fair & NGS Day
We are combining a Plant Hunters Fair of 9 specialist nurseries from around the country with a National Garden Scheme Day. Entrance £3 each, all donated to charity. Beautiful, extensively planted garden to explore with a unique collection of alpines, bulbs and woodland plants, rockeries, raised beds, troughs, pool, stream and waterfall.

SNOWDROP WEEK Open daily, 17th - 25th February 2018 Wrap up warm for a winter walk full of snowdrops and winter flowers. We vary the pace with small displays in the alpine bed to great drifts on the snowdrop bank. Pink Cyclamen, yellow aconites and exquisite irises and crocuses mingle with single and double snowdrops and unusual hellebores in the woodland walk. Enjoy delicious teas and homemade light lunches in the tearoom and follow the amazing story of these ancient gardens in the history room. Snowdrops, hellebores and other winter plants for sale in our shop. Also we have a Botanical Art Exhibition:

BOTANICAL ART EXHIBITION 'A YEAR IN THE GARDEN' Saturday 17th February - Sunday 11th March 2018 (Open daily during Snowdrop Week and then on our usual open days from Sunday 4th March) Easton Walled Gardens is excited to announce their first Botanical Art Exhibition, titled; ‘A Year in the Garden’. Come and see three accomplished and talented artists interpret the seasons through botanical illustration and painting. The exhibitors are part of a distinguished group of botanical artists stretching back to the 16th century. These skills are still used today to record flora throughout the world. They use extraordinary observation skills to reproduce the beauty and detail of the natural world. The exhibition will take place in the Coach House at Easton Walled Gardens and entry is included with your garden admission fee.

We are also opening on Tuesday 17th July in aid of Perennial ( formerly The Gardeners Benevolent Fund) with a garden tour and lunch .Tickets available from Perennial.

Snowdrop Fortnight - one of the country's newest snowdrop and winter gardens A cheerful display of snowdrops, crocus, winter iris and early narcissi welcomes visitors. Enjoy a ¼ mile wander through the garden and woodland. Banks of crimson willow, bright stemmed dogwoods with a selection of winter flowering shrubs. To round off your visit there is warming homemade soup, fresh sandwiches and homemade cake served by the fire in the Hay Barn. We recommend a visit to nearby St. Helen’s Church designed by Capability Brown.

17th June Live Classical Music with Cream Tea. 2pm to 4pm £8 per person, tickets must be pre booked. Gates open 1.30pm.

24th June Afternoon Tea in aid of St Barnabas Hospice. 2pm to 4pm £12 per person, tickets must be pre booked. Gates open 1.30pm.

22nd July, Tribute acts Elvis, Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney and more, with Cream Tea.

2pm to 4pm £8 per person, tickets must be pre booked. Gates open 1.30pm.

2nd September 1940’s Celebration, Johnny Victory performs a live music show with dancing and Afternoon Tea. £15 per person, (feel free to dress for the occasion.)2pm to 4pm. Tickets must be pre booked. Gates open 1.30pm.

23rd September Classic Cars on show 11am to 4pm.

7th October The Big Bulb Sale! 11am to 4pm.

Spring Bulb Pageant

February 11, 2018 - April 1. Join us for a spectacular pageant of Spring bulbs, beginning in early February with wonderful snowdrops, Cyclamen Coum, and Crocus Thomasianus, continuing through March and early April with drifts of Lent Lilies and our unique collection of heritage daffodils (including rare Edwardian varieties), aconites and Snake Head Fritillaries until May.

Plant Fair

May 13. Join us for our annual Plant Fair, with stalls hand-picked by our Head Gardener, David Logan.

Enjoy a broad selection of plant stalls and garden sundries under the gaze of our East Front. Speak with friendly expert growers about your own planting ideas and hear their recommendations and suggestions – come away inspired!

Iris Week

May 27, 2018 - June 3. Enjoy the enchanting beauty of the famous Doddington Iris display in the romantic setting of the Walled West Garden.

Sculpture Exhibition

July 29, 2018 - September 9. We are delighted to announce the return of our fourth biennial fine outdoor and indoor Sculpture Exhibition.

An exciting, inspiring and beautiful array of sculptures from across the UK and Europe. With Doddington Hall as a backdrop

PYO Pumpkins, October 13, 2018 - October 31. Join us in our pumpkin patch to choose a pumpkin for autumnal carving decorations or to make some delicious seasonal recipes using local ingredients (recipe ideas will be available from our Farm Shop).
